The pricing of highway tolls will change from government-set prices to government-guided prices.
Recently, Shandong Province issued implementation opinions on promoting price mechanism reform, proposing the gradual cancellation of provincial-level highway toll stations. Highway tolls will also transition from government pricing to government-guided pricing. It is understood that Shandong Province's toll standards have been based on regulations issued in 1998, which are more than 10% lower than the national average. Relevant sources speculate that after implementing a differentiated pricing system, Shandong highway tolls will increase.
After the implementation of government-guided pricing for highway tolls, the fees will become more flexible, breaking away from the previous "fixed price" system. The fees will be determined based on factors such as highway construction costs, the proportion of bridges and tunnels, the region, and traffic volume.
For a long time, Shandong Province's toll standards have been based on regulations issued in 1998. The toll standard for Class I passenger vehicles is 0.4 yuan per kilometer, more than 10% lower than the national average. Relevant sources speculate that after implementing a differentiated pricing system, Shandong highway tolls will increase.
